The Piano Festival is the new event taking place at the San Carlo Theater in Naples. Here are the details and information to participate in the final concert of the festival on May 5, 2022.
The San Carlo Theater is launching an international Piano Festival for the first time. The concerts began on Friday 22 April. Arcadi Volodos performed the Piano Sonata No. 17 in D major D850 by Franz Schubert, the Childhood Scenes op. 15, and the Fantasia in C major op. 17, by Robert Schumann.
The San Carlo international piano festival in Naples saw 6 great performers from different generations as protagonists. Among the interpreters involved, we also remember Alexandra Dovgan, Beatrice Rana, Bertrand Chamayou, and Rafal Blechaz.
Piano Festival, 5th May 2022
The final concert of the piano festival is set for Thursday 5 May 2022. The guest performer of the evening is the British Benjamin Grosvenor. Grosvenor will perform for the first time at the Teatro di San Carlo in Prelude, Choral and Fugue in B minor by César Franck, Fantasia in C major for piano, op. 17 by Robert Schumann, Iberia – Book I by Isaac Albéniz. Last pieces in the program: Jeux d’eau, op. 30, and La Valse, choreographic poem for orchestra, op. 72 version for solo piano by Maurice Ravel.
This is a much-awaited appointment in a city like Naples which has always been linked to a great piano tradition and which confirms the great attention of the Teatro di San Carlo to all aspects of today’s musical production, to the most significant talents of all ages and all origins for a global enjoyment of the art of sounds.
